Marlene’s research at the Law School of the University of Liverpool focuses on the study of the human rights framework as well as its implementation in the context of climate change. Particularly, her research seeks to address the challenges of the extraterritorial and extra-temporal dimension of human rights in the climate change debate.
Marlene completed her LLM in Advanced Studies in Public International Law at Leiden University in The Netherlands (2010) and her MSc in International Relations in the Barcelona Institute of International Studies - Barcelona University (2007). She graduated in Law from San Martin de Porres University in 2003 and is member of the Bar Association of Lima since 2004.
Her main areas of interest and academic research include international humanitarian law, international law of human rights and international relations.
